Un Chapter Harley Davidson sur un bateau militaire, la chose n'est pas banale, sur un bateau militaire américain, elle semble l'être encore moins, mais en y regardant de plus près, quoi de plus naturel, c'est un retour aux sources pour nos motos et pour nombre d'entre nous une découverte et quelque part, un petit voyage au pays de l'Oncle Sam.

Si on ne devait retenir qu'une chose de cette rencontre, je dirai sans hésiter, la qualité et la chaleur de l'accueil.

Le Commandant en personne était au bas de la coupée pour nous recevoir. Puis nous avons été pris en charge pour la visite du bord par 5 officiers d'une gentillesse extrême, qui nous ont présenté leur navire avec un grand professionnalisme.

Je suis persuadé que cette journée restera, comme une grande journée dans les anales de notre Chapter. Au nom de tous les participants de notre Chapter, je remercie le commandant de l'USS Vicksburg et son équipage pour leur accueil et les patches qui nous ont été offerts à cette occasion, orneront nos gilets, c'est sûr.

Un grand merci également, à tous les militaires Américains et Français, ils se reconnaîtront, qui m'ont permis d'organiser cette rencontre.

If there is one thing to remember, I would say it is undoubtedly the quality and warmth of the crew welcome.

The Commander himself was standing at the bottom of the gangplank to welcome us. Then 5 officers, all of them extremely nice, took us to visit the ship and did it with great professionalism.

I am convinced this day will remain as a great one in our Chapter history. In the name of all participants from our Chapter, I would like to thank the USS Vicksburg Commanding Officer and his crew for their welcome and the patches that they gave us on this occasion and that will end up on our jackets for sure.

A big thanks to the American and French military people - they will recognize themselves - who made this visit possible.
